Every Celsius to Fahrenheit conversion uses one rule: °F = °C × 9/5 + 32.

1. Take the temperature in Celsius.
2. Multiply by 9/5 — a Fahrenheit degree is smaller than a Celsius degree.
3. Finish the arithmetic to get Fahrenheit.

The two scales meet at −40°: −40 °C and −40 °F are the same temperature, which is a quick way to check any conversion.
